Message from the Principal

A warm welcome and greetings to the website of Brajbhushan Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Kharkhura, Gaya.

The Sanskrit language is the soul of our Indian knowledge tradition. The knowledge contained in the Vedas, Upanishads, philosophy, literature, Ayurveda, and other scriptures still guides human life. Therefore, the study of Sanskrit is not merely a memory of the past, but the foundation for building the present and the future.

In light of the National Education Policy (NEP), our college, in collaboration with the university, is continuously striving to make the curriculum more flexible, multidisciplinary, and employment-oriented. Along with traditional classical studies, modern subjects, skill development, research, and innovation are being incorporated into the curriculum, ensuring the all-round development of students.

The college offers the following courses:

– Upashastri (Intermediate Level): At this level, students are provided with a basic and robust knowledge of the basic structure of the Sanskrit language, grammar, literature, and Indian culture.

– Shastri (Graduate): This involves in-depth study of various scriptures such as grammar, literature, philosophy, Vedas, rituals, astrology, theology, etc., as well as incorporating modern subjects.
– Acharya (Postgraduate): At this level, students are provided with the opportunity to develop expertise, research aptitude, and a critical perspective in various Sanskrit disciplines.

In addition to teaching, our college faculty also encourages innovation and research. Through a conducive academic environment, research-oriented seminars, workshops, and academic dialogues, faculty continually enrich their scholarship and inspire students to pursue research.
